Discover Hiroshima: From tragic history to beautiful nature
One thing I love about Hiroshima is that it is compact and easy to explore.
Most of us would remember Hiroshima for its pivotal role in World War II. Located in western Japan's Chugoku region, it is where the world’s first atomic bomb, Little Boy, was dropped on 6 August 1945.
Despite its tragic past, the city has rebuilt itself into a thriving hub of culture, peace, and natural beauty. Today, Hiroshima is a symbol of hope and peace.
If you’re planning your vacation, consider visiting Hiroshima in spring (March to May). During this beautiful season, you can admire cherry blossoms while peering into the city’s history. Otherwise, autumn (October to November) is also ideal with its pleasant temperatures and vibrant hues.
One thing I love about Hiroshima is that it is compact and easy to explore. The Hiroshima Electric Railway (tram) is a convenient way to get around the city, while ferries connect to Miyajima, a small island famous for its “floating” torii of Itsukushima Shrine.
